Sometimes Sh*t Happens (And That’s Okay)

Published on 1 June 2025 at 09:00

So… May turned out to be a month of rest. Not exactly what was planned, but apparently it was definitely needed. I had these plans of writing a blog every Sunday, posting regularly on Instagram and Facebook, maybe even being the Queen of Showing Up™️.

But I got one blog out. One.

The weeks flew by like the spaceship in the old ass movie Spaced Invaders, and no matter how hard it seemed that I tried, I couldn’t seem to keep up with all the things.

I blinked and the days were gone. Time was weird, motivation was low, and honestly… I just wasn’t feeling it.

There were moments I got a little down on myself—because I genuinely enjoy writing, hence having a blog. Haha. I love connecting with all y’all! I missed doing interactive stories (those are pretty fun to come up with by the way 😅). But I also realized: maybe I needed to hit pause. Not because I was lazy or unmotivated, but because my body and brain were just... tired.

And it wasn’t like I was sleeping all day either. I still did some things that brought me joy. Took a couple of motorcycle rides, hung out up in the canyon, hung out with friends who fill my cup. I also made some stickers as well, so not a total “do-nothing month.” Posted when I could. I didn’t totally disappear—but I did slow down.

Rest Isn't Failure. It’s Necessary.

If you’ve felt like you’ve been stuck in survival mode lately, I see you. You are definitely not alone. This world is insane (or at least it feels like it…lol), so it can feel hard to truly rest and get out of survival mode.

It’s wild how guilty we can feel when we stop to breathe. Like it feels like “we should” be doing something. But rest is healing. It’s saying, “I want to keep going, so I need to pause.” And that’s not weakness—that’s self-awareness and honestly a strength!

That’s growth.

So Take a Breath. Tomorrow is Another Day

If things didn’t go the way you planned last month, it’s okay. You’re allowed to begin again. No shame. No pressure. Just progress—not purr-fection. 🐾

We’re only human, and sometimes, rest gives us the energy to get sh*t done later—and that feels pretty damn good too.

How was your May?

Drop me a comment below or come hang with me on IG @shiftingthruchaos. I’d love to hear from you.

P.S. June’s got some plans coming, so stay tuned. 🖤
